Utah State Board of Education
Utah State Superintendent of Public Instruction Larry K. Shumway is urging all Utah public school students to get involved in out-of-school time activities in his back to school message for students and parents. Research shows that taking advantage of out-of-school time activities is a strong predictor of future success, but not every student takes advantage of these programs. The Superintendent is asking parents to encourage their children to seek out these opportunities and share stories from their own life about how these kinds of programs helped them or could have helped them.
