The Afterschool Utah Association (AUA) is a nonprofit 501c3 ogranization affiliated with the National Afterschool Associaiton.  AUA is managed entirely by volunteers from the afterschool field and community. AUA promotes the field of out-of-school time programs by providing quality training opportunities for school-age professional and creating a network and information exchange among school-age professionals. 

The Afterschool.org website is for afterschool program directors who want to improve the quality of their programs. All sorts of other people will find it useful, too--people like program staff, volunteers, parents, community members, policymakers, funders, researchers, and anyone else who cares about children.

For more than two decades, NIOST has been the national leader in providing highly interactive, research-based training for directors and staff, school administrators, community leaders, and others committed to providing high quality afterschool programs for children and youth.

School-based child abuse prevention programs deal with all aspects of child abuse: sexual, physical, emotional and neglect. The program consists of classroom discussion, visual aids, and videos. The program has specific core curriculum objectives which increase students' knowledge of what constitutes child abuse, teaches students why, where and how to report child abuse and educate students about community resources and to whom they can talk to if they or someone they know is being abused. The Utah State Office of Education, Attorney General's Office, Division of Child and Family Services, law enforcement and local school boards have approved the curriculum.

SEDL is committed to long-term, systematic, research- and experience-based solutions derived from research, development, evaluation, information provision, technical assistance, and professional development. SEDL's primary efforts are in five program areas: improving school performance, strengthening teaching and learning in content areas, integrating technology into teaching and learning, involving family and community in student learning, and connecting disability research to practice.
