Prevent Child abuse Utah: School-Based Child Abuse Prevention Programs

School-based child abuse prevention programs deal with all aspects of child abuse: sexual, physical, emotional and neglect. The program consists of classroom discussion, visual aids, and videos. The program has specific core curriculum objectives which increase students' knowledge of what constitutes child abuse, teaches students why, where and how to report child abuse and educate students about community resources and to whom they can talk to if they or someone they know is being abused. The Utah State Office of Education, Attorney General's Office, Division of Child and Family Services, law enforcement and local school boards have approved the curriculum.
