Saxxon, a proud Utah native, has always had a strong attachment to her home state where she lives with her partner and many houseplants. She started her professional journey as a committed group leader at the Salt Lake City School District. During her time there, she discovered her passion for empowering young minds and creating a supportive environment for their growth and development. Saxxon pursued higher education and earned a Bachelor's degree in technical writing, but she soon realized her true calling was serving Utah's youth. She shifted her career focus towards advocacy and mentorship, dedicating herself to improving the lives of Utah's most vulnerable. From advocating for unhoused youth to providing invaluable mentorship to those facing significant challenges, Saxxon has always been committed to serving her community. Now, as an Out-of-School Time Specialist, she looks forward to upholding UAN's mission of providing high-quality after-school programming to students across the state. In her spare time, Saxxon enjoys all things arts and crafts. When her hands are not covered in glue and glitter, they're covered in flour, whipping up some tasty treats.
