Afterschool Alliance

The Afterschool Alliance works with a broad range of organizations and supporters, including policymakers and policymaker associations, advocacy groups, afterschool coalitions and providers at every level, business and philanthropic leaders, technical assistance organizations and leaders representing a variety of interests, each with a stake in afterschool  to ensure that all children have access to affordable, quality afterschool programs.

Child Care Licensing: The Utah Department of Health's vision is to access to safe, healthy child care for Utah families and their mission is to support working parents by protecting the health and safety of children in regulated child care programs. Lights On Afterschool

State Lights On Declaration signed by Governor Herbert

During the Afterschool Utah Association’s Jumpstart Conference on October 7th, Governor Herbert’s Chief Deputy of Education, Christine Kearl presented a state declaration recognizing October as “Lights On Afterschool” month in the State of Utah. “Lights On” is a celebration of afterschool programs promoting the critical importance of quality programs for children by ensuring lights stay on and doors remain open for all children during out-of-school time.

Lights On Event at Woodrow Wilson Elementary October 27, 2011

Utah Afterschool Network will partner with Woodrow Wilson Elementary to celebrate Lights On in conjunction with the Community Learning Center.  At the event, Mayor Cherie Wood will present a city proclamation that recognizes October as Lights On Afterschool month in the City of South Salt Lake. Rob Averett, Resource and Development Director of the Granite School District will show support for afterschool and literacy by encouraging youth to participate in KUED’s 19th annual Kids Village Reading Marathon.  Woodrow Wilcon Elementary Students will showcase an artistic parade coordinated by the schools art program.
